Aspen Colorado - Fall aspen, Maroon Bells and ominous gathering clouds. The famous Maroon Bells draw thousands of photographers, hikers, climbers and vacationers annually. I was intrigued by the way these clouds hugged the mountains in a dynamic scene that lasted over an hour. I think the quaking aspen (populus tremuloides) form a visually stimulating and unusual anchor to the often overwhelming mountains. | |
