Recently, the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy has expanded its mission to include unplanned pregnancies among 20-somethings. With the expansion of our mission has come the addition of two new websites, StayTeen.org - dedicated to educating teens about sex, love, and relationships - and theNationalCampaign.org, which is our new full service website.

All new information regarding teen and unplanned pregnancy will be updated on theNationalCampaign.org, so for the most up-to-date information make sure you visit. And, of course, if you can't find what you need on theNationalCampaign.org, check teenpregnancy.org or feel free to email the National Campaign staff.

The Changing Twenties
In an effort to stimulate interest and understanding of the scope of the unplanned pregnancy problem in the United States, the National Campaign sponsored a forum in October 2007 focused on Being 20-Something in the 21st Century. Not surprisingly, one of the fundamental questions for the event was whether being in one’s 20s at present is different in important ways from previous decades.

The Changing Twenties presents what William A. Galston, Ph.D.—National Campaign Board member, Brookings Institution scholar, and one of the nation’s preeminent social scientists—offered at the event on this most interesting issue.

ABC's Supernanny Looking for Teen Moms
Supernanny is searching the country for families who want help. And they would like your help in getting the word out to teen moms. ABC’s hit parenting show Supernanny is looking for young mothers between the ages of 15 and 19 who are interested in having America’s #1 nanny, Jo Frost, spend a couple of weeks with them for their very own episode. People have a range of views on what it’s like to be a teen mom. This is an opportunity for one young lady to tell her own story while getting hands-on advice and parenting tools from Supernanny.

To apply to be on the show or for more information, visit www.supernanny.com or call 877-NANNY-TIME.

NCHS Releases Preliminary Birth Data for 2006
December 5, 2007, the National Center for Health Statistics released preliminary 2006 birth data, and highlighted the fact that for the first time in 15 years, the teen birth rate has increased. The rate rose from 40.5 births per 1,000 females aged 15-19 in 2005 to 41.9 births per 1,000 in 2006--a 3 percent increase. Get more information on our sister site, theNationalCampaign.org.
